The monumental Romanesque cathedrals, with their imposing bell-towers watching over the coast and the hinterland are a feature of this area with its harsh and luxuriant, picturesque and fascinating landscape. From sandy beaches to vegetable plots by the sea, the coast-line offers a wide range of scenery, while the hinterland conserves the genuine charm of the old towns, grandiose villas and country farmsteads. Land and sea contribute in equal measure to the food traditions of this territory, with delicacies ranging from lamb to fresh fish, which you can also try raw down by the sea.
